• Across Europe, young people living in rural areas often face significant barriers to participating fully in democratic and social life. Geographic isolation, limited access to education and digital technologies, and fewer opportunities for dialogue with institutions can reduce civic engagement and increase feelings of exclusion. These challenges contribute to youth migration to urban areas and weaken the social and democratic vitality of rural communities.

    RURAL 2.0 is a European project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme that aims to address these challenges by empowering young people in rural areas and strengthening their role in shaping the future of their communities and of Europe.

    The Rural Leadership Academy, as a part of the project, is an interactive learning programme designed to empower young people from rural communities to become active leaders and changemakers. The Academy provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to engage in democratic life, influence public policies, and create positive change in their local communities.
